Mrs. Doubtfire

I can't stop comparing with Avvaishanmugi whenever i see this movie. Without an original to compare AS may seem a little Ok. But Mrs. Doubtfire is definitely a class apart. First the kids are definitely not overacting. In AS the kid's character is really irritating. Damn it she is just 5 or 6 years old. When Tamil film makers will learn to create a kids' character with a little reality.

Another thing that totally lacks in the Tamil version is the characterization. Kamal may be a big time hero but it doesn't mean the rest of the characters are not worthy of  having a defining characteristics. In the original the Wife character is better presented. You would know why she initially fell in love with the man, her struggle to keep the marriage intact and why she decided to end it. But in Tamil there is no definite answer for why a sophisticated rich (brahmin) girl fell for a cinema choreographer/dancer. And then a few financial problems were enough for her to seek a divorce. On top of it a very pathetically portrayed circumstance is enough for her to go back to him. Seriously??? I think, in reality we women fare better.
